Jungle Life Costa Rica – Rainforest Tours

Jungle Life Costa Rica — Rainforest Tours

Experience unforgettable nature with trails and sightings of mammals, amphibians, and other species in a perfect place for lovers of tropical tourism and rainforest tours. Jungle Life Costa Rica is a conservation area of almost two hectares of primary and secondary forest that houses a great variety of native fauna and flora in their natural habitat. Located just five minutes from the village of Bijagua in the province of Alajuela—adjacent to the Tenorio and Miravalles volcanos—Jungle Life Costa Rica is surrounded by large areas of tropical forests, an ideal ecosystem for the development of many species.

Offering an abundance of trails, the main trail at Jungle Life Costa Rica is 700 meters long and can be walked by people of all ages and fitness levels. Made of sand, stone, and sawdust, the trails afford silent walking conditions, to better observe the animals and their behavior without disturbing wildlife activity. On the tours you can see animals such as sloths, toucans, monkeys, frogs, spiders, tapirs, a variety of insects, and more.

All tours include a bilingual guide who accompanies you throughout the tour.

Sloth Tour

This 1.4 km tour, approximately one hour duration, is where you can observe beautiful sloths, mammals that move slowly through the trees as a form of camouflage. Sloths are the main attraction of this tour. However, depending on weather and time of year, it is possible to observe many other kinds of wildlife. Species of monkeys—such as Carablanca, Spider, and Congo—as well as frogs and a variety of toucans (iris-billed, brown-billed, and aracari) can also be seen..  Other types of birds that can be observed are motmots, hummingbirds, trogons, tanagers, and hawks.

Note: Can sloths be touched? No. These mammals are normally found in the treetops. Jungle Life Costa Rica is committed to not interfering with their habitat and for this reason there is no direct contact with them, only sightings.
